@ATT John Stankey confirmed what our data shows: FWA capacity isn't infinite, and consumer mobile gets prioritized. Where FWA is constrained in rural markets, Starlink takes the customer. Where @GetSpectrum brings fiber, Starlink loses that customer. #FWA #Broadband

@Ask_Spectrum This is America where the official language is English - not Spanish - so there should be NO REASON for me to have to update or choose anything unless I were Mexican, like your head marketing executive. Until she understands this, I won't be a customer.

@Ask_Spectrum And DO NOT give me the “Please DM”. This is not something I need a technician to interrupt my day with, again. They have been here, they tested everything, they already know the node is unstable. Fix it.

@iAnonPatriot What are the consequences for the company that hired them? This has been going on in OH with the non-english crews causing property damage. Is this @GetSpectrum ?

@Ask_Spectrum Yes. Take a look at the outage in my area and fix it. And I don't know... maybe you should have added some batteries or a generator to keep it from happening again?

@jeannieturfmom@GetSpectrum We don't have a ton of options. One option is down more than it's on (and it's $100), the other we got rid of after it went out during the semi finals of Michigan's natty run (football)

@GetSpectrum Did you know when you have an outage, spectrum has nobody to call? They will not be there when you're working, middle of the day, peak time, but I am off line. That's right, call their number and it says wait is longer than 30 min. Bye bye.

Today’s show might be up a bit late because the internet cut out AGAIN in the fifth attempt at recording the show. @GetSpectrum you’re the worst

I hate @GetSpectrum internet. For 3 days they've cut our service all day long to replace the cables. Like people ain't got **** to do that requires internet. Now, the workers are gone, the internet is still out, and the house smart panel won't stop beeping. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

@Ask_Spectrum I’m so over these outages. Last month you sent out emails saying that service was being upgraded. I’ve had nothing but outages every night since then. $300+ a month for what? I had AT&T internet for 3 years only had 1 outage & it was less than 10 min. Ridiculous.

Charter Spectrum's University Park, PA footprint is part of a larger Pennsylvania plant built on a mix of aerial and underground plant across the Spectrum footprint. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe weather, planned overnight node maintenance, backbone fiber cuts from construction, and utility power events that take amplifiers offline. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 16802 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

Spectrum not working in University Park? Troubleshoot it in order
Separate a local University Park Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.
1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking
Check the live University Park status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.
2. Internet is connected but nothing loads
Compare against the map: quiet map in University Park means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.
3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service
Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat University Park reports confirm it is inside your home.
4. TV or cable box out, internet fine
A video-tier fault scoped to the University Park headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.
5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time
Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the University Park report pattern.
6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down
Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in University Park typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.
