@GetSpectrum why does your monthly fee keep going UP with no advanced notice to the customer?? And no alternative options provided? This is the 3rd time my rate has increased with no notice. You're pissing me off.

Has anyone else been having issues with @Ask_Spectrum the last few weeks. The video is glitchy and the sound goes in and out several times an hour

Nothing I usually post but FWIW had two experiences yesterday w/customer service for two large companies & difference couldn’t have been more stark. Will spare details but bottom line: @GetSpectrum very good. @StubHub very bad. One still has my business. One does not. Carry on

@NYCMayor @GetSpectrum is particularly bad about not allowing new yorkers to cancel their services. Forcing them to call or wait in store for hours on end to be able to end service. No ability to cancel on their website.

@IamBirdMomma @GetSpectrum @Starlink We lose signal briefly when it rains really hard. When we lose power the whole house generator kicks on and the reboot is quick. Love Starlink!

Powder River Spectrum outages — local patterns

Charter Spectrum's Powder River, WY footprint is part of a larger Wyoming plant built on a mix of aerial and underground plant across the Spectrum footprint. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe weather, planned overnight node maintenance, backbone fiber cuts from construction, and utility power events that take amplifiers offline. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 82648 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

How to check Spectrum outages in Powder River

Confirm whether Spectrum is down in Powder River in under 5 minutes.

  1. 1. Check the live Powder River map

Look at the live status on this page. Report volume above the baseline for Powder River means an active outage.

  2. 2. Verify with your ZIP

Enter your ZIP to see localized report volume across Powder River instead of the broader total.

  3. 3. Rule out your equipment

Only reboot your modem (unplug 60 seconds) if the map is quiet. If reports are spiking, the issue is upstream and a reboot won't help.

  4. 4. Report your outage

Submit a report so other Powder River customers can confirm they're not alone.

  5. 5. Request a bill credit

If the outage lasts more than a couple of hours, contact Spectrum with the start time and your service address to request a prorated credit.

Spectrum not working in Powder River? Troubleshoot it in order

Separate a local Powder River Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.

  1. 1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking

Check the live Powder River status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.

  2. 2. Internet is connected but nothing loads

Compare against the map: quiet map in Powder River means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.

  3. 3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service

Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Powder River reports confirm it is inside your home.

  4. 4. TV or cable box out, internet fine

A video-tier fault scoped to the Powder River headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.

  5. 5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time

Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Powder River report pattern.

  6. 6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down

Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Powder River typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.

The outage information on this page is based on user reports and local service indicators.
