@Ask_Spectrum over a dozen outages in less than a year in East TX. Most of those multiple hours. Get it together or all the rural people yall spent millions on to get service to will easily swap back to Starlink.

@Ask_Spectrum it's not a billing concern that is reviewable.Bill went from $171 to $185 for no reason, & with no service improvements. No changes were made, and NO I won't simply downgrade my service to bring the bill lower. There was ZERO reason to raise it to begin with! I am close to done!

I wish @Ask_Spectrum would provide some update on outages to customers. Just issuing a blanket statement such as you’re currently in an outage, we’re working on it, our customer service agents can’t tell you anything else so don’t ask is completely unacceptable!

Crazy to think I actually pay for @GetSpectrum but have yet to have ONE day without problems...if I was able to get the real fiber and not the fake fiber thru your coaxial cable I'm sure I wouldn't have any issues. #Strugglewithspectrum

@ladydshops @GetSpectrum @Starlink It may be something we take a serious look into. Spectrum and even Nation Grid are just hot garbage plain and simple.

Point Comfort Spectrum outages — local patterns

Charter Spectrum's Point Comfort, TX footprint is part of a larger Texas plant built on large metro footprints across Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe thunderstorms, ice storms, heat-related equipment stress, and construction fiber cuts. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 77978 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

How to check Spectrum outages in Point Comfort

Confirm whether Spectrum is down in Point Comfort in under 5 minutes.

  1. 1. Check the live Point Comfort map

Look at the live status on this page. Report volume above the baseline for Point Comfort means an active outage.

  2. 2. Verify with your ZIP

Enter your ZIP to see localized report volume across Point Comfort instead of the broader total.

  3. 3. Rule out your equipment

Only reboot your modem (unplug 60 seconds) if the map is quiet. If reports are spiking, the issue is upstream and a reboot won't help.

  4. 4. Report your outage

Submit a report so other Point Comfort customers can confirm they're not alone.

  5. 5. Request a bill credit

If the outage lasts more than a couple of hours, contact Spectrum with the start time and your service address to request a prorated credit.

Spectrum not working in Point Comfort? Troubleshoot it in order

Separate a local Point Comfort Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.

  1. 1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking

Check the live Point Comfort status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.

  2. 2. Internet is connected but nothing loads

Compare against the map: quiet map in Point Comfort means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.

  3. 3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service

Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Point Comfort reports confirm it is inside your home.

  4. 4. TV or cable box out, internet fine

A video-tier fault scoped to the Point Comfort headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.

  5. 5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time

Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Point Comfort report pattern.

  6. 6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down

Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Point Comfort typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.

The outage information on this page is based on user reports and local service indicators.
