I’m just so curious what it’s like to have a job where you don’t have to show up on time - if at all - and if you do, you don’t fix the issue and you still get paid no matter what & you can just increase a bill for funsies whenever you want. What’s that like @GetSpectrum?

@moellermania @Ask_Spectrum Well it’s 7/27 2026. Spectrum after many hours and interactions with the store. Online, technician still can’ fix my problem I would go with ATT or other services.

Tried to cancel our @GetSpectrum internet peacefully, but apparently cancellation requires an interrogation, a heated argument, and the rep telling me I don't know what my internet needs are. But at least I'm out.

@Ask_Spectrum An outage every time it rains now “due to a power outage in your area” shows you’re neglecting you’re infrastructure. This constant issue has only started the past year and continually gotten worse. Honestly I’m done complaining and just ready to leave after 15 years.

@adams4SC5@GoKineticFiber@GetSpectrum Been on the ground for months? New one installed on the pole? Why hasn't someone in your neighborhood put it in the garbage yet?

@Ask_Spectrum I’m so over these outages. Last month you sent out emails saying that service was being upgraded. I’ve had nothing but outages every night since then. $300+ a month for what? I had AT&T internet for 3 years only had 1 outage & it was less than 10 min. Ridiculous.

What to do right now in Midwest

Reboot your modem only if the map is quiet near you. Unplug for 60 seconds, plug back in, and wait 2–3 minutes.

Charter Spectrum's Midwest, WY footprint is part of a larger Wyoming plant built on a mix of aerial and underground plant across the Spectrum footprint. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe weather, planned overnight node maintenance, backbone fiber cuts from construction, and utility power events that take amplifiers offline. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 82643 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

Spectrum not working in Midwest? Troubleshoot it in order
Separate a local Midwest Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.
1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking
Check the live Midwest status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.
2. Internet is connected but nothing loads
Compare against the map: quiet map in Midwest means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.
3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service
Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Midwest reports confirm it is inside your home.
4. TV or cable box out, internet fine
A video-tier fault scoped to the Midwest headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.
5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time
Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Midwest report pattern.
6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down
Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Midwest typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.
