@Ask_Spectrum Thank you I spoke with one of your texts over the phone and he said what my buddy said on the corporate side said when I told him I was thinking of switching to Verizon for them because this problem is so prominent you don’t wanna have Internet from a phone company

@Ask_Spectrum This is America where the official language is English - not Spanish - so there should be NO REASON for me to have to update or choose anything unless I were Mexican, like your head marketing executive. Until she understands this, I won't be a customer.

I was pleasantly surprised with @GetSpectrum while helping an elderly person get her internet set up; their support line was answered, get this, BY AN AMERICAN that spoke ENGLISH! Stunned, I tell you. My only complaint is I was on hold for far too long (24 minutes).

Hey @GetSpectrum i understand things happen but having an outage everyday multiple times a day for 3 weeks is ridiculous! That’s not reliable service in the least. What really good?!? 🤨

@Ask_Spectrum my husband works in Stone ridge & the plaza is out of Internet. He doesn't know how to report an outage, his jobs higher ups usually deal with the ISP. Not sure if they have business account, or another provider. Is it you guys or should he reach out to someone else

@Ask_Spectrum is by far the worst internet service in the world. I advise everyone in LA to stay away from this company full of scammers.

Charter Spectrum's Maunaloa, HI footprint is part of a larger Hawaii plant built on a mix of aerial and underground plant across the Spectrum footprint. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe weather, planned overnight node maintenance, backbone fiber cuts from construction, and utility power events that take amplifiers offline. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 96770 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

Spectrum not working in Maunaloa? Troubleshoot it in order
Separate a local Maunaloa Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.
1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking
Check the live Maunaloa status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.
2. Internet is connected but nothing loads
Compare against the map: quiet map in Maunaloa means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.
3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service
Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Maunaloa reports confirm it is inside your home.
4. TV or cable box out, internet fine
A video-tier fault scoped to the Maunaloa headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.
5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time
Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Maunaloa report pattern.
6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down
Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Maunaloa typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.
