@Ask_Spectrum I discovered that my Internet has gone up $10 a month. The representative said it’s due to the cost of doing business in 2026, a 140 dollar increase a year. I have been a customer for 15 years & sadly will be switching (which includes moving my wireless service)

@Ask_Spectrum This is America where the official language is English - not Spanish - so there should be NO REASON for me to have to update or choose anything unless I were Mexican, like your head marketing executive. Until she understands this, I won't be a customer.

Got an email last Thursday from @GetSpectrum saying “Your Internet speed has increased from 400 Mbps to 500 Mbps”. Never seen an increase in speed. Today it’s been very slow and going out completely.

Recently got an email claiming to be from @GetSpectrum saying my internet had been upgraded from 400Mb to 500Mb, but I’ve never seen more then 150, and even now it’s only 120. So was it spam?

@Ask_Spectrum Yes. Take a look at the outage in my area and fix it. And I don't know... maybe you should have added some batteries or a generator to keep it from happening again?

@adams4SC5@GoKineticFiber@GetSpectrum Been on the ground for months? New one installed on the pole? Why hasn't someone in your neighborhood put it in the garbage yet?

Nicely done @GetSpectrum Sucker me back after 9 years by paying for all my streaming apps so I can save money and then fail to provide adequate internet service just like always. You get what you pay for so choose anyone else!!!

@Ask_Spectrum It's being addressed...tomorrow...half way through the work day. That's the earliest appointment I could get... I kinda work from home... I just can't understand why every interaction I have with Spectrum is just this level of horrible.

@Ask_Spectrum Your customer service mangers had their chance. BBB is next step for me.

Charter Spectrum's Hackensack, NJ footprint is part of a larger New Jersey plant built on a mix of aerial and underground plant across the Spectrum footprint. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe weather, planned overnight node maintenance, backbone fiber cuts from construction, and utility power events that take amplifiers offline. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 07601 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

Spectrum not working in Hackensack? Troubleshoot it in order
Separate a local Hackensack Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.
1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking
Check the live Hackensack status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.
2. Internet is connected but nothing loads
Compare against the map: quiet map in Hackensack means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.
3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service
Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Hackensack reports confirm it is inside your home.
4. TV or cable box out, internet fine
A video-tier fault scoped to the Hackensack headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.
5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time
Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Hackensack report pattern.
6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down
Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Hackensack typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.
