@GetSpectrum my deaf mother has been a customer for 15+ years. She went to return her router and modem yesterday, did everything she was supposed to when checking in and they refused to help her because she’s deaf…. Just curious what type of customer service this is. Pathetic.

@GetSpectrum so I’m curious, is this the training you give your customer service reps or is this an extenuating circumstance? Either way, disabled people deserve respect and your team in Decatur AL should be ashamed of themselves.

@Ask_Spectrum@AZinCLE Uh huh … you are so bad at "understanding" … which you don't actually do. Price increases even at the absolute basic tier, which my parents honestly could not afford; if they could, they would leave you in a heartbeat. So would I. (I will not respond to any replies from you.)

Franklin Springs Spectrum outages — local patterns
Charter Spectrum's Franklin Springs, NY footprint is part of a larger New York plant built on dense urban and suburban plant across Upstate and metro New York markets. The most frequent outage drivers here are nor'easters, ice loading on aerial lines, summer thunderstorms, and dense urban construction cuts. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 13341 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

Spectrum not working in Franklin Springs? Troubleshoot it in order
Separate a local Franklin Springs Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.
1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking
Check the live Franklin Springs status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.
2. Internet is connected but nothing loads
Compare against the map: quiet map in Franklin Springs means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.
3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service
Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Franklin Springs reports confirm it is inside your home.
4. TV or cable box out, internet fine
A video-tier fault scoped to the Franklin Springs headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.
5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time
Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Franklin Springs report pattern.
6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down
Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Franklin Springs typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.
