@Ask_Spectrum How long do you think I should wait to call Nick back though? I mean he just called the other day and I don't want to seem like too needy but on the other hand I mean I feel bad about having left Spectrum lol

@GetSpectrum nothing like a 21 to 31 min hold calling this cable company. Trust me people. It is the absolute worst internert provider. Zero reliability. I've been a customer for decades. Nothing has improved. Only thing that has changed is the price increases.

@LLuth72 We definitely understand the frustration. In order to look into this and find out what's going on, we'd have to get personal account information to access your services. We ask that you do so privately by messaging us via DM. A Direct Message (DM) is a private message sent through X (Twitter). You can send us a DM by just sending a message to Ask_Spectrum using the messaging system in X. We attempted to send a DM to you from this end to help but it appears that your setting prevent this

I’m just so curious what it’s like to have a job where you don’t have to show up on time - if at all - and if you do, you don’t fix the issue and you still get paid no matter what & you can just increase a bill for funsies whenever you want. What’s that like @GetSpectrum?

Deadwood Spectrum outages — local patterns

Charter Spectrum's Deadwood, OR footprint is part of a larger Oregon plant built on a mix of aerial and underground plant across the Spectrum footprint. The most frequent outage drivers here are severe weather, planned overnight node maintenance, backbone fiber cuts from construction, and utility power events that take amplifiers offline. When report volume rises across neighborhoods such as central, the live console usually lights up before Spectrum's own status tools catch every local node. Watch ZIP codes like 97430 for the earliest neighborhood spikes.

How to check Spectrum outages in Deadwood

Confirm whether Spectrum is down in Deadwood in under 5 minutes.

  1. 1. Check the live Deadwood map

Look at the live status on this page. Report volume above the baseline for Deadwood means an active outage.

  2. 2. Verify with your ZIP

Enter your ZIP to see localized report volume across Deadwood instead of the broader total.

  3. 3. Rule out your equipment

Only reboot your modem (unplug 60 seconds) if the map is quiet. If reports are spiking, the issue is upstream and a reboot won't help.

  4. 4. Report your outage

Submit a report so other Deadwood customers can confirm they're not alone.

  5. 5. Request a bill credit

If the outage lasts more than a couple of hours, contact Spectrum with the start time and your service address to request a prorated credit.

Spectrum not working in Deadwood? Troubleshoot it in order

Separate a local Deadwood Spectrum fault from a problem inside your own home.

  1. 1. No internet at all, modem online light off or blinking

Check the live Deadwood status first. If reports are climbing, the issue is Spectrum's plant — a reboot cannot fix it, so log a report and wait for restoration.

  2. 2. Internet is connected but nothing loads

Compare against the map: quiet map in Deadwood means power-cycle the modem for 60 seconds and let it re-sync for 2–3 minutes; busy map means the fault is on Spectrum's side.

  3. 3. WiFi works, but only some devices lose service

Router-side issue local to your home, not a network outage. Reboot the router only (not the modem), reconnect on the 5 GHz SSID, then re-test. Flat Deadwood reports confirm it is inside your home.

  4. 4. TV or cable box out, internet fine

A video-tier fault scoped to the Deadwood headend rather than the data plant. If TV report volume is spiking on its own, no equipment reset is needed.

  5. 5. Service drops repeatedly for a few minutes at a time

Intermittent ingress on plant is common during storms. Log each drop with timestamps from this page, then request a line technician referencing the Deadwood report pattern.

  6. 6. Whole street is out and utility power is also down

Grid event — Spectrum amplifiers draw power from the same feeders. Spectrum service in Deadwood typically returns shortly after grid power is back. This is usually a local plant issue, not your modem.

The outage information on this page is based on user reports and local service indicators.
